Stephen H. Lebovitz is a third-generation Pittsburgh attorney with more than 35 years of experience in civil litigation, estate planning, and business law. As managing attorney of Lebovitz & Lebovitz, P.A., he represents individuals, families, and closely held businesses across Pennsylvania, Florida, and Maine.
He joined the firm in 1989, practicing alongside his father and grandfather. That legacy continues as Stephen leads the firm with a focus on strategic counsel, clear communication, and long-term client relationships.
Stephen represents many of his clients across both personal and business matters. He handles estate planning, probate, family law, real estate transactions, and residential disputes. On the business side, he advises on contract enforcement, corporate formation, litigation strategy, and tax matters.
He has appeared in the United States Tax Court, Bankruptcy Courts in multiple states, and before various government agencies. His litigation work spans state and federal court, including the Western District of Pennsylvania, the Southern District of Florida, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. He recently assisted a small company in an insurance coverage dispute in federal court.
His real estate practice includes mortgage foreclosures, construction planning, nonprofit governance, and advising condominium associations. Stephen also brings experience in pension administration, charitable foundations, and securities compliance. His financial background from the Wharton School has proven valuable in advising startups and resolving NASD/FINRA issues. As a former officer of the Wharton Entrepreneurial Society, he applies insights from business leadership to legal problem-solving. He has advised clients in emerging industries, including a cryptocurrency ATM startup, and frequently addresses legal issues involving technology, intellectual property, and online platforms.
Stephen earned his degree in economics and finance from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and his J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.
He has served on the boards of several professional, business, and charitable organizations in the Pittsburgh region. He remains active in civic initiatives supporting education, economic development, and families in transition.
