Stephen H. Lebovitz Esquire Pittsburgh personal injury attorney, litigator and more

Stephen H. Lebovitz, Esquire

Professional Background

Stephen H. Lebovitz is a third-generation Pittsburgh attorney with a background in economics and finance and more than 35 years of experience in civil litigation, estate planning, and business law. As managing attorney of Lebovitz & Lebovitz, P.A., he represents individuals, families, and closely held businesses across Pennsylvania, Florida, and Maine. He joined the firm in 1989, practicing alongside his father and grandfather, and continues that legacy through strategic counsel, clear communication, and long-term client relationships.

A significant part of his current practice involves advising families and business owners on long-held real estate, intergenerational property transfers, and estate structures designed to preserve control while reducing tax and conflict risk. These matters often require coordination between estate planning, real estate ownership, and litigation strategy, particularly where assets span multiple jurisdictions or where disputes may arise among heirs, beneficiaries, or business partners. He also advises clients whose matters involve appreciated property, blended families, business interests, or multi-generational transfers requiring coordination beyond basic wills.

He handles estate planning and probate, family law, and real estate transactions and property disputes. On the business side, he advises on contracts and enforcement, corporate formation, compliance, and litigation strategy. His Wharton training enhances his ability to interpret complex financial information and negotiate practical outcomes.

He has appeared before the United States Tax Court, Bankruptcy Courts in multiple states, and state and federal trial courts, including the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. His real estate work includes mortgage foreclosures, construction and project planning issues, nonprofit governance matters, and advising condominium associations.

He also advises clients on legal issues involving technology, intellectual property, and online platforms, including matters involving emerging payment and digital asset businesses.
